When designing your new restaurant, or redesigning your current restaurant, remember to locate your Point of Sale (POS) equipment during the design phase. It is important to determine the placement of your order input units, order printers and bump screens. Thinking through the placement of the printers is helpful in solidifying the flow of the cook line and pantry areas.

Proper location of your POS units and accessories early on will also ensure that the wiring, data cable and the wiring of back the office patch panel are mapped out prior to the walls being closed up. This also helps the food service designers to ensure proper utilities, wall backing and support items like ticket rails and printer shelves are located properly.

Too many times the POS system is an after thought which results in exposed wiring and change orders at the end of a project. Getting started early with the design of your POS system also help your vendor to customize your system to your needs.

When you’re ready to plan for your Pont of Sale, Myers Restaurant Supply is ready to guide you with our expertise and experience.
